On March 21, 2012, Jack Clay, Chairman of the West Metro Trial Lawyers Association, hosted an all-day Lawyer of the Day program at the Georgia Capitol. This event provided a good opportunity for our local attorneys to meet and discuss important legislation with our state representatives, state senators, Attorney General Sam Olens, and others. The group also attended committee meetings where important legislation was being discussed that affects the rights of injured people throughout Georgia.
On March 22, 2012, Jack Clay sponsored a luncheon featuring Judge Sara Doyle of the Georgia Court of Appeals. Over 35 attorneys, prosecutors, and judges attended the luncheon which featured an informative question-and-answer session with Judge Doyle. This luncheon was very informative, and the legal community was offered a good opportunity to ask questions about the workings of the Georgia Court of Appeals.
On March 27, 2012, the Law Office of Jack Clay filed a lawsuit in Douglas County Superior Court in a serious construction fall case in which our client fell approximately 10 feet shattering his leg. As outlined in our lawsuit, this incident could have been prevented if the employer have followed OSHA requirements and provided safety and file protection to the injured worker.
